Airtel App Security Threat (Beware Your Phone Number Can be Stolen)
Security flaw in Airtel app exposes sensitive customer data
An independent cyber security researcher found technical flaws in an application of Bharti Airtel that exposed "sensitive user information".
The flaw existed in the Airtel Thanks app that allows "to fetch sensitive user information of any Airtel subscriber."
According to the research if someone somehow knows any airtel digital tv customer id which is linked to any airtel mobile number,then that airtel number can easily be accessed using airtel thanks app.
Here's how:
1.Open Airtel Thanks app and on the top right side click on the add account option.
2.On the next screen select Dth option
3. After that just enter the customer id and request for otp ,you will see a screen saying "otp has been send to 123***567 number".After that just hit resend otp and immediately after this you will see complete phone number of that customer on the bottom of your mobile screen.
